The new bigger, better brawler

2018 Specialized Enduro

Specialized introduced the all-new Enduro last year and it was dubbed by PinkBike as ‘being able to take everyone from weekend warriors to elite racers as far as they’d like to go’. For 2018 they had the opportunity to make some changes based on rider feedback and experience gained working alongside the S-Racing Enduro team. This has enabled Specialized to build on an already brilliant platform with some small but key changes to the geometry and suspension such as:

– Longer top tube for increased reach (between 10 and 15mm depending on size)

– Adjustable head tube angle and BB height with ‘Flip Chip’

– Introduction of the innovative WU post & SWAT CC tool

– Öhlins suspension on S-Works, Pro & Elite models for 29/6Fattie AND now 27.5

– New Butcher & Purgatory tyres with Gripton

– Wider 800mm bars on all models

With the new ‘Flip Chip’ design you can tweek your geometry to better suit your style of riding as it offers 8mm of bottom bracket height increase and 0.5 of a degree of head angle adjustment. It’s a simple but intelligent design that achieves this and if you’re a 2017 Enduro owner, don’t worry you can get the same system for your bike too! Specialized has the Flip Chip (and rocker-link for 29ers) available for you at only $85 for 29er models and $40 for 27.5

Another cool addition to the Pro and S-Works models is the new WU Command post. Specialized has re-designed this 115mm dropper post so that as it drops the saddle tilts back by 12-14 degrees at it’s lowest setting, giving a total of 150mm drop from the top of the saddle. The new post is also available for 2017 model Enduro’s too.

There’s heaps more to get stoked about, but instead of reading all about it check out this great video from PinkBike.
